Old Mountain Arboretum is located in central Mississippi near the town of Winona in Montgomery County. Housed on roughly 120 privately owned acres, Old Mountain Arboretum is located right off of Hwy 82 East less than 4 miles from Interstate 55. With unique and beautiful natural landscapes; diverse plants, trees, and native wildlife; picturesque views from an incredible scenic overlook; shaded hiking and nature trails; and an abundance of lush green spaces; visitors are offered an opportunity to “go green” and immerse themselves in a conveniently located and growing Mississippi living museum.
Old Mountain Arboretum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies upon the generosity and support of its members, donors, and the general public to pursue and support an active, healthier, greener, and growing Mississippi. Old Mountain Arboretum is currently a certified Level 1 arboretum through the Mississippi Urban Forestry Council and is presently Mississippi's only ArbNet accredited arboretum in the state.
OUR FUTURE
Given the fact that Old Mountain Arboretum is younger than many other arboreta in our state and nation, there is a still a considerable amount of growth and development planned for our living collections, educational programs, and conservation and preservation efforts. We are currently updating our 2021 Master Plan and would love input and support from donors and local and statewide stakeholders. We invite you to come and grow with us!
